Umbra and Antumbra are identical twins, but they cannot be more different, and not simply just their personality; Umbra’s touch can steal good luck from people while Antumbra’s touch will spread misfortune. This is their story.

It probably comes to no surprise to anyone, but there’s a sequel to The Sisters’ Luck in progress. If I’m on schedule, it should be done by now—but that was never the case. I’ve been doing a numerous rewrites/redraws since the book came out last year. Trying to keep in mind all the feedbacks I have had.
It’s tough trying to wrap up the book that isn’t well-received, but I do owe it to the book itself to end it properly. More papers must be sacrificed! Hah.
One of the best part of doing comics is getting feedback, knowing what people think about my work. There’s always rooms for improvement and I can’t do it without feedback. So please keep them coming!
Overall feedback I got is that the art is not a problem, but some may find the story department lacking. At a risk of sounding defensive, I was limited by format and page count. Best I can say is that there’s book 2 I’m currently working on now. Hopefully it will bring story up to par and tie up all the loose ends.

… I’ll be honest and say I had not heard of Shari Chankhamma before. Though I do want to know more now! I’m guessing there’s a little more than a “bit” of Manga influence but Chankhamma still includes enough style to make this stand out through its individuality. Very good balance between the use of black ink and white space which a lot of people do get wrong –but not here.

…Chankhamma’s story is earnestly written, if a bit superficial and juvenile; she’s trying to establish this world and the beings that live in it, but keeps her focus narrow and never lets us really get to know what makes her characters tick.

…One use of the F-word aside, The Sisters’ Luck will appeal to young adult readers, particularly manga fans. Those audiences will definitely be a lot more forgiving of the book’s vague conclusion than I.
I must confess: seeing people refer to me by last name spooked me. In Thailand we don’t call people by last name at all, real first name is formal enough. I supposed it’s something I’ll have to get used to. :)
I spent a good few months barricading myself in the cave and drawing this comic, I’d love nothing more than to hear what you think about it (that, and you buying the book :D). So please feel free to let me know! If you’d rather say it in private, send email to shari.hes@gmail.com or hit me on twitter @sharihes.
Let’s start with Page 17 of Pavlov’s Dream. I’m getting the hang of drawing this!
Major change on my sites (note the plural), which probably confused everyone including myself. I’ll just pretend that last couple of months I was on high acid trip and can’t remember anything. I moved main blog back to sharii.com while giving Pavlov’s Dream and Beleth their own set ups. I just got tired of trying to customize WordPress just so I can have everything in one place the way I want it. By separating everything, the pros are
1) Clean site structure and URL.
2) Easier navigation for each comics and blogs.
3) Proper automate archives, no more manual pages.
4) Everything out of the box, I don’t have to heavily customize anything.
Cons
1) Separated feeds, who’s gonna keep track of me ;_;
2) I feel like I have too many sites to take care of.
3) Did I mention separated feeds?
It’s a trade off I’m willing to make. And I really hope this set up is working cos I don’t want to change anything anymore.
What am I working on besides Pavlov’s Dream? How about a new original GN? Here’s the back cover for The Sisters’ Luck.
I’m hoping to put up preview pages soon, after everything is finalized.
Lastly, is there anyone who actually haven’t seen the ipad cat yet? I watched the clip went from 1K views to 1M views in one day. The awesome power of twitter.

for new comics, taking a break from drafting.
