first proper review for clarence. found by Kayay.
on the art:
“…art is gorgeous, vaguely and superficially resembling the round-headed, emotive characters of Brian Lee O?Malley?s Scott Pilgrim, but her storytelling, gothic lighting and lush backgrounds move the art into a completely different realm. She?s able to move back and forth between the humorously bizarre to the gut-wrenchingly heart breaking with apparent ease, and the fantasy settings of the story never get confusing, no matter how dreamlike they become.”
on the story:
“…story is filled with terrific moments, many of which will make most readers laugh out loud at the absurdity or blackness of the moment. However, despite some emotional moments, the overall theme of Clarence?s self-discovery doesn?t quite pull together in a satisfying. Undoubtedly many readers will still enjoy the book, and even take something away from it, Nevertheless, the journey, in this case, is sufficiently enjoyable that it is probably worth the ride, no matter where you end up.”
Overall, this is a positive review, me happy <3 <3
originally from newsarama but the site is down at the moment altho you can see the cache
a bonus comment from some japanese blog about american comics (and linux)
“まったく知らない作家の作品だが、プレビューを見るとかなり期待できそう。”
according to babelfish, it’s something along the line that s/he has good expectation for the book after seeing the preview even tho the writer is unknown. (or maybe totally different thing altogether, you can’t trust babelfish XD)

we (that is, Fehed, the writer, and me) are told that The Clarence Principle is good to go and is scheduled for May 2007! whoopie! we thought it was going to be something like october or november, but May! that’s big yay!
in case the above paragraph isn’t clear, I can say it again, (I like saying it, now that I can XD) The Clarence Principle will be published by SLG publishing and to be released May 2007.
*echo*
in the celebration for getting properly published and also finished the commission I was working on, I did big update on my *current* main site, sharii.com, uploaded a few sketches/speedpaints I have done recently. not much time to do full-fledge cg tho, (the fact that I have time to play 5 different L2 alt, is irrelevant XD)
man, I want a Wii so bad T^T

Clarence is done.
all 200 pages of it.
There’s still some resizing and text editing to be done, but, that isn’t really an issue, I could do that with eye close, the real work is done.
and it’s so quiet.
I’ve been working on this comic for so long I can’t actually remember when I started. I kinda expect that, once I’m done, the volcano would erupt, meteor strikes, fanfare or maybe bells and whistles.
but it’s pretty darn quiet.
and I like it.
