Is this a default icon for PC server on Leopard? I don’t know, my friend sent me this screenshot. If it was indeed coming from apple, it’s very funny in a kind of mean way XD

Wacom Cintiq 12WX — 4

wacomcintiq12wx

Wacom’s been busy lately, they just released new model called Bamboo, which, if I’m not mistaken, is for casual user, (judging from utterly childish-looking homepage, I haven’t a patience to take a look around), and now they are releasing another new model, Cintiq 12WX, which is basically a mini Cintiq. With 12.5″ wide-screen for drawing directly on it, you probably don’t feel very good using it, kinda like trying to do cg in laptop I’d think, but hey, portability and ergonomic probably made this worth a shot. I know I’d get one if I had money.

altho, at £829.99, (1700$) The price isn’t very mini. You can buy a macbook or imac with that.

Cintiq 12WX will be released in November 2007.

New Comic Viewing Layout

Sorry for spamming your rss @_@, I’m working on a new comic viewer for this site, which will be much better a system than the one that I’ve been using. I’ve been trying to get this done for a while, but due to my (very) limited PHP knowledge, and my idealistic tendency, it was a rather hard way around to get it done the way I want.

Now you will be able to read my comics in the format I intended, side by side spread pages, like you are reading the book. I have to do this because I realized how much I use the spread pages in my comics and those are lost when I put them up online, without proper viewing method. Tokyopop manga viewer let me see how much better it would be if I can display the comic this way.

The system I set isn’t fully automatic. actually, it’s rather primitive, I still have to post the pages manually, but it’s a couple of steps better than actually manually code html for each pages, and because it is inside wordpress, I can take advantage of the RSS, comment, stats, and stuff, not to mention that keeping everything in same place. Now I just have to hope that Wordpress won’t die on me XD

Wordpress 2.3

waaaai!

Done upgrading! XD

I cheated on the process of actual upgrade since since I used one-click install (let’s say, it’s automaaatic.), but cleaning up after that wasn’t an easy task. Main plugin I used, YAPB, actually broken, but a quick tip to its forum fixed that. Basically, every plugins that have anything to do with category at all will break, thank god I didn’t depend on any of those.

I went ahead cleaning up and resorting categories. I’ve been wanted to do this for a while since I dislike having too many categories and assigning more than one category to the post proved to be problematic with my theme, so it’s good to finally have Tags system to rely on, and yes, I went mad with tagging, but not every posts are properly tagged yet, still long way to go!

Overall, I’m very pleased with my site right now, altho there’s still some modifications I’d like to get done, they aren’t very important as the main system is completed.

does that mean I’ll post more craps from now on? you bet! XD

Archery Me — 2

Renaissance Fair #1

I went to Renaissance fair with Kayay yesterday on 12th August. It was kinda similar to Medieval Fair I went to in June, but this one was much better, the weather was perfect, not too sunny, not too cold, the layout of the whole fair was better, no long walk from one place to another, better shows (cheesier, but things like this, the cheesier the better), better food, not just hotdog and crap, I had giant turkey leg and giant curley fries. I really like Thomas the Juggler. His show was the best out of all at the Fair. But all those isn’t what made yesterday special it’s actually something I’ve been wanted to do since watching the first Lord of The ring for the first time.

I shoot a real bow!

Hipster PDA and I can’t believe I actually need it — 4

I’m getting old.

skitched

I’ve heard of Hipster PDA ages ago, but I’ve never thought that I would ever ever need it before, I’m not that busy and I thought that my todo list is pretty straight forward and I don’t really need any list or reminder, but lately, I found myself forgot to do stuff and lagging behind on my deadlines, left alot of things undone, works or hobbies, some of the things I always wanted to do but the moment I have time to do it, I forgot about it. until I saw Kayay occasionally jot something down on her notebook and it came to me, I probably need something like that.

basically, Hipster PDA is just small notebook or small stack of blank cards/papers/whatever that small enough to fit your pocket, clipped together with binder clip, and don’t forget the pen, you carry around and write down whatever you need, todo list, shopping list, reminder, contact info, mom’s bday, doodling. It might sound silly but it’s actually very useful as I found it to be. I use it to jot down everything, todo list down to details, deadlines, idea for new comics, what to eat, where to go, which part of web I wanted to tinker, basically my every ‘laters’ which now I can actually go back and check if I have done them before move on to other things.

next year I probably need a walking stick…
