who’s behind lj righteous mass deletion?

from boingboing:

Who are “Warriors for Innocence”?

The folks are Warriors for Innocence have been getting a lot of scrutiny, and as such, a few survivors of harsh Christian Reconstructionism have found that these folks are linked to some hardcore dominionist groups.

No mistake should be made here: these people are not so much about stopping pedo’s, they are about erecting and establishing a hate filled theocratic society by any means necessary. They are all about control. And they are firmly entrenched in the belief that they are “more right” than anyone else.

Thats why they have the distinction of being referred to as “Talibangelicals”.

Why am I not surprise? is that a kind of social you wanted to be in? you can count me out.

a bonus from Warren Ellis:

Until such time as LiveJournal/Six Apart work out how to tell the difference between fantasy fiction communities/support groups/fashion discussion communities/survivor histories and actual criminal use and traffic, and restore those fiction groups and survivor support teams to full working order, my own LiveJournal will become read-only, and I will produce no new content to be read on that system.

I do believe that some stupid people got what was coming to them today. But a lot more people have been mistreated by LiveJournal for no reason beyond blind panic. I see no reason to tacitly support that by continuing to write under a LiveJournal URL.

good to know there’s logical people out there.

I’m in America now :D

arrived safely, if not smoothly @_@

The shorten version: I got grilled by the border security people for hours and I was the last from the morning flights to leave tacoma airport.

The long version was that, they told me they needed to do the additional checking because my passport is new, and I intended to stay long, and they probably think that I’m here to stay. While other people just had to scan their finger printes and taken mugshot, before given the permit stamp, I was given this giant red plastic card and got shifted into kinda back room and into what was looking suspiciously like interrogating room @_@, it was probably that, except that there wasn’t any shouting and flashlight in the face, just alot of questions and looking through all my stuff, I mean, ALL. The officer went through stuff in my bag, my wallet and my suitcase, and actually went to check sixkillerbunnies.com, checking my cellphone and reading the diary I wrote on the plane, much to my embarrassment, I think, only because my story are added up and consistent that they allow me to enter. all the while I keep thinking about the case that the guy who got strip search at border and was only allowed to enter for one day, if that happened, I think I’d breakdown for sure, it was so scary, but thankfully nothing like that happened. The officer was polite but firm and explained to me that he understands that these stuff are private but he has duty to go through them, and it will be only be between me and him and it won’t leaving this room, I actually don’t have much problem with the said diary spreading around since I intended to post that here anyway, but it’s good to know that they are still being courteous and considerate.

When they finally let me enter and I walked out of the area, I found that a few more officers there heard about me and remarked about me being artist, it was so weird and kind of fuzzy at the same time, fuzzy enough that I wanted to leave the airport as soon as humanly possible, juggling the giant suitcase that costed me 50$ for excess baggage with me.

I think I had enough excitement to last for months, now I’ll enjoy quiet day, surfing endless cable tv and practicing cg on 22″ wide screen LCD monitor :D
