The report from CNN is conflicted with what was reported by Thai news site, CNN said:

The government has maintained control of the capital and the surrounding areas, according a statement on Thailand’s state-controled Army television.

Around the royal palace in Bangkok, four tanks were parked as were a number of armored vehicles and Humvees, CNN’s Dan Rivers reported. Soldiers appeared to be setting up roadblocks and what appeared to be members of the royal guard surrounded the palace.

It was unclear if the soldiers were loyal to the government or to those attempting to seize power. There have been no reports of violence in Bangkok.

But what Thai news site report was that, what happened was the PM did declare state of emergency BEFORE the military was doing anything, and the tanks around Bangkok was his doing, but after he did the declaration on TV, all TV went blank and AFTER that, when the military actually seizing the control of the capital, and declared their intention saying that they have everything under control and their intention wasn’t to take the power themselves but to give the power back to people, emphasizing on democracy and the monarchy.

Which one is true? one thing is true is that, all the TV channel isn’t under gov’s control anymore, but I really don’t know anything else.
