c..c…c…CINTIQ!!!

if you don’t know what Cintiq is, I could tell you that it’s probably a wet dream for every digital artist, It’s a “interactive pen display” or put it more simply, it’s a LCD screen that is also a tablet. with price tag of 3,000$, it remains in the dream (wet or not) for many amateur artists.

I have heard about it years ago, but I never personally seen or tried real thing until today, I was fortunate enough to arrive early and the shop was not busy, the salesperson was very sweet and friendly, and we chat alot and she encourage me and my friend to try it out for as long as we like and come back for more, I told her the shop should make it available for rental, hahaha

Cintiq itself works as good as a 3000$ gadget should. It felt very different, not really like drawing on paper but not like working on normal tablet either, for one thing, it made controlling the line much more easily, making work that require precise line like sketching and inking goes much faster, I actually stood there and sketched and inked the whole picture in about 20mins, pity I didn’t save.

one concern I have had with cintiq when I first heard it is that it would be too hot to work on for long period of time, that was what happened with tablet pc that rendered it unusable >: ( but I found out that heat isn’t the issue at all and it seems that I have no other excuse not to get it beside money XD

does anyone want my kidney? :D
